Building AI where lives are on the line.
I'm L.Finesse Humxn — yes, that's my real name. Florida-born, Los Angeles-based, and somewhere between digital nomad and founder at any given moment. She/Her.
I almost didn't make it past 16. The kind of darkness where death feels like relief. That experience — surviving it, processing it, and eventually building from it — is the through line of everything I do.
Seven years ago I co-founded Finesse Our Minds with my mom and co-founder Londa Rozier-Taylor because I couldn't sit with what I knew: young people were dying in silence while surrounded by "support." Not because they didn't have resources. Because they didn't have real people who listened. Today we're in 8+ countries. Real conversations. Real impact.
I'm also a GenAI systems engineer with 10+ years of experience — from the Tesla Model 3 rollout and Google Project Fi to building AI systems at GoDaddy and Gusto, to founding MedCompanionAI and Millennials Creatives LLC. I build at the intersection of technology and human consequence.
When I'm not building, I'm on the ground somewhere — Vietnam, Japan, South Korea, Kenya, South Africa, Bali — listening to young people talk about what it actually feels like to be alive right now.
"Not everything that matters is polished. But it's real. And sometimes, that's what saves lives."
Full-stack healthcare AI briefing assistant built on a multi-node LangGraph agentic graph. Intake → Guardrail → Retrieval → Response. RAG pipeline with vector search and text-embedding-3-small ensures every output is grounded in verifiable sources. Safety guardrails route crisis-adjacent inputs toward human support rather than AI advice. Built from a rejected interview scorecard. Tested by medical professionals. Being built into a company.
Co-founded with Londa Rozier-Taylor. Built from lived experience — survived my own darkest period at 16 and turned it into a platform that's now in 8+ countries. Full AI-assisted infrastructure, peer support systems, and real programming reaching hundreds of thousands of young people.
Currently building the FOM mobile app — bringing peer support, AI-assisted resources, and safe messaging directly to young people's phones. Designed for the exact moment someone needs help before they can find it.
Structured evaluation of AI system behavior in emotionally sensitive domains. Baseline → NLP → LLM. Failure taxonomy built around human impact, not benchmark metrics. Feeds directly into production guardrail design.
Full-scope engagement: brand positioning, identity development, responsive front-end, conversion copywriting, and local ordering flow. Intentionally differentiated from luxury dessert trends — anchored in nostalgia, warmth, and community.
Not tutorials. Not demos. Production tools that real people use — in healthcare, mental health, and beyond.
Healthcare AI briefing assistant. LangGraph + RAG + safety guardrails. Helps real people understand their health in plain language — with verifiable citations every time.
A custom GPT built for Finesse Our Minds — providing safe, warm, trauma-informed peer support to young people around the clock. Designed around safe messaging guidelines and human-first principles.
Mobile app bringing FOM's peer support infrastructure, AI resources, and safe messaging directly to young people's phones. Built for the moment someone needs help before they can find it.
Systematic observation of how LLMs behave on emotionally sensitive and crisis-adjacent prompts. Documents misalignment patterns that feed into production guardrail design.
I speak from lived experience — not from a slide deck. Youth mental health, AI ethics, building mission-driven technology, and what it actually takes to survive and then build something that matters.
A survivor and founder's perspective on what young people actually need — and what adults keep getting wrong. Delivered in 8+ countries. Trusted by schools, nonprofits, and health organizations.
What happens when AI meets real distress, real patients, and real consequences? How to build systems that are safe, reliable, and human-first — from someone who's done it in production.
The real story behind founding three companies, staying on mission through setbacks, and turning a rejection scorecard into a deployed healthcare AI product — in days.
Dispatches from 8+ countries — what youth mental health looks like in Vietnam, South Korea, Kenya, Japan, and beyond. Why global problems need local solutions. Why listening comes before strategy.

What makes Finesse unique is the combination of high-level tech experience and deep human understanding. They bridge the gap between fast-paced, high-performance environments and the very real mental health challenges that come with them — something many leaders overlook. They lead with both strategy and heart, which is rare.
Finesse doesn't let voices go unheard or feelings go unnoticed. She goes the extra mile to make others feel welcomed and has the charisma to lead and connect with others. It's rare to find people as genuine as Finesse. I'm so glad I had the opportunity to work with her.
AI shouldn't replace the human in that moment. It should make the path to one shorter.

I almost didn't make it past 16. That darkness — the kind where death feels like relief — showed me that being heard changes everything.
Seven years ago I co-founded Finesse Our Minds with my mom Londa Rozier-Taylor because young people were dying in silence while surrounded by "support." Not because they didn't have resources. Because they didn't have real people who listened.
MedCompanionAI is the same mission — a different door. Healthcare is full of moments where people are scared, confused, and alone with information they don't understand. I build AI to close that gap.
Whether you're a journalist covering this story, an investor who sees what MedCompanionAI can become, a healthcare organization wanting to collaborate, or someone building in AI and mental health — reach out. I read everything.
